4 Aces Regular

4 Aces Regular is an inexpensive Virginia-Burley blend produced by Republic Tobacco and sold in large zip-lock bags. It is cut shag-style, very finely shredded, which packs tightly, lights easily, and burns slowly. Per the manufacturer's description it is not marketed as an aromatic, delivering a full-bodied, sweetly rounded smoke where Burley's earthy, nutty body is balanced by Virginia's light sweetness. Although sold in the pipe tobacco category, the blend really falls into the economical class of product designed mainly for roll-your-own use and bulk consumption. Its fine cut and the sturdy nicotine hit it delivers can feel harsh to smokers coming from mild aromatics. It's prepared for immediate smoking rather than for jarring and aging.
