Admiral's Choice is a bulk pipe tobacco line sold for a long time as the store brand of a major American drugstore chain, later handed to catalog and online sales when the chain stopped carrying tobacco products. Natural Cavendish is the unflavored wing of this line: its weight is set by nutty Burley, with some Virginia added, and the mixture is put through the Cavendish process. No further flavoring is applied; the sweetness comes from the process itself. The smoke is cool and dry, burning slowly; the tobacco taste is flat and low-pitched, with nicotine measured. This low profile makes it usable both as a standalone everyday tobacco and as a blending component added to other blends for body and sweetness.
