Charatan Royal Escape Mixture

Royal Escape Mixture is built on a single leaf family, bringing together a selection ranging from light, pale-lemon Virginias to heavy-bodied dark Virginias. The thick-cut ribbon leaf burns slowly and cool; a light plum-like topping added to the blend gives it a sharp turn reminiscent of Perique. It runs above typical Virginia blends in nicotine. The Charatan brand was taken over by Tor Imports to keep the name alive after Dunhill withdrew from pipe tobacco and handmade cigars in 2017; Royal Escape is offered as the counterpart to take the place of Dunhill's Royal Yacht. The brand is British in origin, with production now carried out in continental Europe.
