Cigar Connoisseur RVR Flake

RVR Flake is a pure Virginia flake tobacco the Cigar Connoisseur shop sells in bulk. The slices come out of the pack loose but unbroken, with a fairly high moisture content. Airing time determines the character of the smoke: smoked moist, the burn is comfortable but can run hot; smoked drier, the flavor clarifies but the risk of tongue bite increases. Packing without breaking up the slice structure is the method preferred in available records. It burns quite comfortably and reveals its flavor from the first puffs; Virginia's pure, sweet taste holds its line throughout the bowl. If the smoking pace speeds up, harshness and flavor breakdown can appear in the final quarter, so it calls for a controlled tempo.
