Dan Tobacco Salty Dogs

Salty Dogs is a classic plug blend tied to seafaring tradition. Selected sweet Virginia grades and a small amount of perique are flavored with Caribbean rum and pressed into pocket-sized blocks, aged for a long time under press. The result is a dark brown, tightly textured tobacco. The smoke is cool and soft; Virginia's sweetness combines with the dark sugar tone from the rum, while perique adds a peppery spice. Being plug, it needs to be sliced and rubbed out before packing, meaning extra work before filling.
