Davis and Son Tobacconists English Supreme

English Supreme is a latakia-containing mixture among the house blends of Davis & Son Tobacconists in Wilmington. The shop lists such blends separately under an "English" heading. The blend consists of aged virginia combined with oriental tobaccos from Smyrna, Dubec and Macedonia, and latakia; structurally it falls under the Balkan mixture definition, meaning the oriental share is pronounced. Latakia gives a smoky, woody layer, the oriental leaves a tart, spicy top note, and virginia a measured sweetness in the background. It's unadulterated.
