Dunhill My Mixture 73

My Mixture 73 is an English blend within Dunhill's "My Mixture" line, distinguished by its latakia weight. Syrian latakia was used in the original recipe; this leaf gives a drier smoke evoking leather and spice compared to Cyprus latakia. High-quality Virginia leaves and orientals form the base, while perique remains as a fruity spice accent. The blend became unavailable in the US market from the mid-1980s, discontinued during major changes to Dunhill's recipes. The replacement of Syrian latakia with Cyprus latakia, changes in blending methods, and shortened aging periods are the defining developments of that period. Today it's a record found only in old tins.
