Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Best Brown #2

Best Brown Flake #2 is a medium-bodied flake Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. prepares by pressing and slicing Virginia and burley leaves. Because the leaves are pressed, the flakes come out dense and mottled brown; they need to be rubbed out or cube cut before smoking. The blend does not carry a heavy top dressing, but does contain a measured amount of the essences typical of the Kendal tradition, making it a milder take on classic Lakeland flakes. Toasted, grassy, woody Virginia flavours lead early in the smoke, with the natural tobacco taste becoming more pronounced as it progresses.
