Dark Flake Aromatic is a strong flake blend where Malawi- and Indian-origin fire-cured dark leaves are combined in equal proportions and pressed. It rests on the same body as unflavored Dark Flake; the difference is the application of traditional English sauces based on licorice root, maple, and tonka bean. The slices are dark-colored, heavy, and oily. On the smoke, the fire-cured leaf's smoky, spicy taste leads; the topping doesn't mask it but lays a measured sweetness underneath. Nicotine is among the brand's highest examples, and the smoke is filling. It burns slowly, and the slices need to be rubbed out and aired.
