Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Ennerdale Flake

Ennerdale Flake is one of the best-known examples of the floral-soapy essence tobaccos known as "Lakeland" in Kendal tradition. A dough of Virginia and Burley leaf is pressed and sliced, topped with an almond-and-fruit-citrus-forward essence. This essence is pronounced, but records indicate it doesn't fully mask the Virginia's own sweetness, so the blend sits on a line that's both aromatic and tobacco-forward. The smoke is cool, nutty, and fruity. Since it holds strongly to jar and pipe, it's usually smoked in a dedicated pipe.
