Nessmuk Navy Flake is the flake version of the plug product of the same name. The "Navy" name refers to the traditional sailor's-tobacco style where Virginia and Burley leaf are pressed and flavored with rum; the name also draws on the "Nessmuk" pen name of 19th-century American nature writer George W. Sears. The Virginia leaf gives a dark dried-fruit sweetness and an earthy note, while Burley adds a nutty depth and a light molasses taste; the rum topping brings out this base and softens the perceived nicotine. Given its pressed structure, it burns slowly and cool.
