Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. No. 7 Shag Unscented

No. 7 Shag is an unflavored shag-cut tobacco Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. has kept in production for decades, built from fire-cured and flue-cured Virginia leaf. Its character sits on an axis of earth, leather, and smoke; underneath, a light sweetness from the Virginia and a herbal-citrusy edge round it out. This blend's base is also used in several of the house's Lakeland-style topped products; No. 7 Shag is the unflavored form of that same base. The very fine cut lights the tobacco easily, but packed tightly and drawn fast, the burn speeds up and heats up.
