Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Sweet Rum Twist

Sweet Rum Twist is Kendal's rope-tobacco tradition rendered in a rum-flavored example. Sources indicate the word "sweet" was dropped from current packaging due to English labeling regulations; the tobacco today is mostly referred to simply as Rum Twist. The twisted, wound dark leaf matures in rope form and needs to be thinly sliced and rubbed out before smoking. The rum flavoring is more pronounced here than in the house's other rope tobaccos, and softens the tobacco's raw, tar-like edge. A light smoky taste remains in the background. Being heavy in nicotine, it gives a hearty smoke.
