Toffee Brown Pigtail is the toffee-topped version of Gawith, Hoggarth & Co.'s fine pigtail Burma tobaccos. Dark fire-cured leaves are hand-twisted into rope form and cut into small discs for use. Toffee sweetness and a creamy texture dominate the pouch aroma, and this layer carries through into the smoke. Flavor intensity and nicotine level run high, giving a full smoke. Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. is one of the English producers that continues traditional twist (rope) production at its Kendal factory, hand-twisting fire-cured leaves into rope form. Because twist tobaccos don't go through a pressure-cooking stage, they stay intense in nicotine; records indicate these ropes are sold for both chewing and pipe smoking.
