Hearth & Home Capitol Stairs

Capitol Stairs is an American mixture in the Hearth & Home series built on a trio of Burley, Virginia, and Perique. In its original form, the blend included deer tongue, an herb used in the tobacco industry as a flavoring plant; this herb gives the smoke a coumarin-derived vanilla-like, herbal sweetness. Records indicate the blender changed this component around 2014 due to regulatory uncertainty. The flavor profile runs along a sweet, nutty line where the tobacco's own character stays in front, often compared to cinnamon French toast. Perique provides a spicy, fruity counterpoint. It carries no heavy top note.
