Hearth & Home Distinguished Penguin

Distinguished Penguin is a blend in the Hearth & Home series linked to the Scottish style. Its composition includes bright Virginia along with Carolina-grown flake-cut leaf, steamed-and-heat-treated (stoved) dark Virginia, Latakia, and black Cavendish. The stoved Virginia lends the blend a depth of cooked fruit and caramel. Latakia is kept at a low proportion, sitting in the background rather than overriding the sweetness. This positions the blend somewhere between English mixtures and straight Virginias. It carries no topping.
