Hearth & Home Old Companion

Old Companion is a blend for everyday smoking where nutty Burley and sweet Virginia meet in a balanced ratio. It has a toasted, nutty flavor axis and burns cool; it needs relighting rarely and leaves a light gray ash. Its top note is either absent or very faint; records describe a lightly flavored structure reminiscent of classic American blends from old foil packaging. The Virginia ratio is pronounced enough to give a sharp edge on the tongue if smoked too fast, so it calls for a slow pace.
