Hermit Tobacco Works Co. Captain Earle's - Private Stock

Private Stock is an English mixture reportedly built by selecting and combining eight separate tobaccos. Latakia and stoved red Virginia come forward; Oriental leaves, Cavendish, and Perique join them. The mixture is pressed and presented as a crumble cake, opened by hand before filling. Here, Latakia smoke stands less as a dominant note and more as a layer balanced by Virginia's dark sweetness; Perique plays a spicy role, and Cavendish a softening one. On the taste side, tones evoking smoked meat and toasted wheat bread are noted. It carries no flavoring.
