Iwan Ries British Medium

British Medium is one of the English-style house blends prepared for Chicago's long-established tobacconist Iwan Ries & Co. In this ribbon-cut tobacco, Cyprus Latakia builds the smoky roof; earthy, nutty Burley fills out the body, herbal, lemony Virginia gives sharpness, and black Cavendish balances the sweetness. In the maker's classification it counts as light-to-medium strength — meaning Latakia is pronounced while the nicotine load stays low. Its cool, even burn keeps the sweet-salty campfire taste steady throughout the bowl. The blend is produced in Denmark.
