Nineteen O'Four is a pipe tobacco line from South Africa's long-established tobacco manufacturer Leonard Dingler, its name taken from the year 1904. The company dates to the early twentieth century, remained a family business for a long time, and later passed to Swedish Match. The series' base rests on Burley and Kentucky leaf; this structure gives the smoke a nutty, bready and earthy body. Nineteen O'Four (1904) Cherry Blend is recorded as the line's arm distinguished by its cherry flavoring. The casing is applied at a level that doesn't mask the Burley base; the smoke stays cool and body stays at medium. Hard to find outside the country.
