Mac Baren Mixture: Scottish Blend

Mixture: Scottish Blend, per the product description, was introduced in 1958 and is prepared from over thirty-five leaves sourced from different regions of the world. It contains Virginia, Burley, and Cavendish; the cut is mixed, made up mostly of ready-rubbed and broken flake pieces. An intense honey-forward topping is applied over the blend. The sharp, faintly bitter base typical of Scottish-type blends is pronounced in this product; the honey topping is used to balance that sharpness. The firmness felt in the mouth on the first light eases as the smoke progresses, letting the honey sweetness come forward. Since flavor intensity is high, the natural leaf taste stays in the background; toward the bottom, body and nicotine from the Burley become pronounced.
