McClelland Christmas Cheer 1992
Christmas Cheer is the name of the limited series McClelland prepared each year from unflavored flue-cured Virginia leaf selected from a single harvest. The 1992-dated tin is the series' first release; per its label, it's made from mottled Virginia leaves of the 1989 Old Belt harvest. The leaf is pressed into cake and presented as broken flake. The series was designed to show unflavored Virginia character through year-to-year harvest differences and to be invested in for long cellaring. The brand's characteristic tangy-sweet tin note is pronounced; in the smoke, natural sugar sweetness, hay, and dried-fruit tones stand out. Nicotine level is medium and no flavoring is used.
