Blend
McClelland CPCC Samovar
Samovar is a dark Oriental mixture McClelland prepared for the Chicagoland Pipe Collectors' Club and later folded into the Club Blends series. Records indicate it was first released in April 1995. What sets the mixture apart is its use of rarer Syrian Latakia instead of the more common Cyprian Latakia; this leaf is kept at a non-dominant dose. In the smoke, a line of incense and spice merges with the Oriental leaves' dry curl; the blend's name comes from this dark, tea-evoking character. No flavoring is used. McClelland closed in 2018, so the blend is no longer produced.
