McClelland Master Penman
Master Penman is one of McClelland's aromatic blends born within the Greater Kansas City Pipe Club circle. It's named after Mike Sull, a club member and calligrapher who prepared the calligraphy for official White House invitations. The blend's base is the trio of Virginia, Burley, and black Cavendish; over it, pecan, cinnamon, and rum essences are applied in a measured balance. The smoke is mild and tongue bite is kept low; drawn through the retrohale, a buttery aroma leaning toward rum and light vanilla appears. Body stays light, placing the blend in a range smokable at any hour of the day. Production ended when McClelland closed in 2018.
