McClelland Oriental Mixture No. 12

Oriental Mixture No. 12 is among the higher numbers in McClelland's green-label Oriental series. Per retailer descriptions, it's built by adding a pronounced amount of Turkish tobacco and Latakia over matured Virginia leaves, making it one of the fuller-bodied entries in the series. The cut is ribbon, and it packs and burns without trouble. In the smoke, Virginia's sweetness comes first, followed by a woody, tangy-citrus layer and a faint note reminiscent of licorice root. The Latakia gives smoke but doesn't cover the blend; throughout the series, the Latakia weight is kept limited. Discontinued when the brand closed in 2018.
