McCranie's Watson's Glen

Watson's Glen is McCranie's shop's composite Virginia blend. Rather than settling for a single leaf type, it brings together differently prepared Virginias; according to the shop's recipe the mixture includes Rattray's black Virginia, Marlin Flake, dark aromatic Virginias, and the shop's own Red Ribbon red leaf. This structure is a typical example of shop mixtures built by rubbing out and recombining ready-made blends. The resulting profile is more layered than a straight Virginia: the tangy dried-fruit quality of the red leaf, the dark sugar depth of the black Virginia, and the intense body from the flake all sit together. It carries no casing.
