Peter Heinrichs No. 78

No. 78 is a dark-character Peter Heinrichs blend built from a select composition of Tennessee leaf, Burley, and Oriental tobaccos. Per the maker's account, the leaves are matured under pressure for two weeks and then cut to a Cavendish width of about 1.5 millimeters. This process gives a slow, even burn and allows the pipe to be set aside and relit later without trouble. On the palate, Burley's nutty, earthy base is determining, the fire-cured leaf brings a light smoky edge, and Oriental leaf adds dry spice. Nicotine and fullness reach medium levels.
