Robert McConnell Pure Latakia

Pure Latakia is sold on its own as one hundred percent Latakia leaf, presented as a ribbon cut. Latakia is an Oriental tobacco cured over smoke and used in blends to add depth and a layer of smokiness. Smoked alone it gives an intensely smoky, incense-like, earthy taste with a spicy sharpness; sugar content is low, so sweetness is almost entirely absent. Its strength depends on how it is used: even a small proportion blended with other leaf noticeably weights the body of a mixture.
