Roman Peter Fox Cake

Fox Cake is a Virginia-Perique mixture from Roman Peter, a Swiss pipe maker and blender working in Affoltern am Albis in the canton of Zurich. Reports indicate the leaf used is sourced from India and Malawi. The cut is curly cut, meaning it is rolled, pressed, and sliced; most of the slices arrive already crumbled, with the rest broken up by hand before packing. On the flavor side, Virginia's floral sweetness runs alongside Perique's peppery, earthy layer; body is medium, with flavor intensity a step above that. The tobacco arrives moist and needs airing before smoking. Because of its long, wide fibers it burns more comfortably in medium and large-chambered pipes.
