SHPC Great Hiatus

Great Hiatus is one of the club blends prepared for the Sherlock Holmes Pipe Club (SHPC). It takes its name from the three-year interval during which Holmes was believed to have died at the Reichenbach Falls, ending with The Adventure of the Empty House. It is a classic English mixture built from Virginia, Oriental leaf, and a high proportion of Latakia; it stays close to old-school English recipes. On the smoke, Latakia's campfire-like smoke and a peaty undertone lead; the toasted, measured sweetness of the Virginia and Oriental leaves balances this, and the character changes little across the bowl. Nicotine and flavor intensity stay in the medium range. As a club blend, its distribution is limited.
