Wellauer & Co Standard Mixture Mellow

Standard Mixture Mellow is the softened version of Wellauer's classic English mixture of the same name. The composition again rests on Latakia, Oriental leaf, and a light tobacco base; the distinguishing factor is processing. According to retailer records, the Latakia and Oriental leaves are lightly toasted in the drying drum, so the smokiness is worked into the blend subtly rather than sharply. The result is a character where dryness and smokiness aren't dominant, leaning instead toward a woody-warm profile. The Oriental component carries the dry, grassy spice, while the light tobacco base establishes balance and lightens the smoke. Visually, the light-colored leaves stand out.
