The Directory of Japanese Pipe Brands is a collective list of workshops and brand names that have made pipes in Japan. Production in the country draws on two distinct veins: on one side, the centuries-old craft tradition of the traditional Japanese pipe made of metal and bamboo; on the other, one-person benches that, in the second half of the twentieth century, discovered the Scandinavian shape idiom and developed their own style working in briar.
