US Pipe Brands Directory is an attempt to gather the scattered record of American pipe production in one place; this first installment of the three-part directory covers ninety-one entries running from Admiral to Gerrard. Pipe making in America followed two tracks: on one side, factories and house brands concentrated around Brooklyn and New York turning out hundreds of thousands of pipes a year, and on the other, mostly one-person workshops that multiplied rapidly after the 1960s.
The entries below are short and factual; brands for which only a name is on record are kept in the list with the gap clearly noted.
