Captain Black Royal

Captain Black Royal is the brand's member sold in a dark-colored package and is a typical example of what is called a "drugstore blend" in America — mass-produced aromatic tobacco. It contains black Cavendish together with golden Cavendish; the two leaf tones give the blend a speckled appearance. The cut is ribbon. The casing combines caramel, cane sugar, licorice, vanilla and alcohol tones; its intensity is medium but the components do not separate individually. It gives a cool smoke, lights very easily and keeps burning. Nicotine is low and tobacco flavor stays in the background. Smoke volume is high and leaves dark, oily tar in the bowl.
