Century Century Merchants Folly Krumble Kake

Merchants Folly is among the flagship records of the Century line. Per seller descriptions, old-crop Old Belt red virginia leaf is brought together with steamed cavendish; the blend is topped with a flavoring reminiscent of vanilla and whiskey. It is offered in what is called Krumble Kake form — pressed under heat and pressure yet easily crumbled by hand — and needs to be broken apart and aired before loading into the pipe. Red Old Belt virginia is described with grassy, citrusy notes and dark cooked fruit; cavendish softens and sweetens this base, while the top flavoring remains a layer that does not overtake the tobacco. The pressed structure gives a slow, cool smoke.
