Billy Budd Blonde is a sweeter variation Cornell & Diehl prepared starting from its Billy Budd blend. It contains light-colored Virginia flake, white burley, chopped cigar leaf, and a small amount of perique; it is presented as a ribbon cut. Cigar leaf gives the blend an earthy, cocoa-like, nutty character along with a pronounced nicotine load; Virginia's sweetness and perique keep the spice in balance. Because nicotine runs high, it can be demanding to smoke on an empty stomach.
