Cornell & Diehl Black Cavendish

Cornell & Diehl's Black Cavendish is a single-component tobacco; the company describes it both as the base for its aromatic blends and as a leaf used to thicken the body of other mixtures. It is a ribbon cut and arrives with high moisture; drying it out from its as-tinned state can be difficult. On the smoke, it leaves a toasted-tobacco, creamy taste throughout, with a light caramel note beneath. Though described as unflavored, its sweet side is pronounced. It is a fast-burning tobacco; smoked quickly it carries a risk of hot smoke and tongue bite, so it calls for slow smoking. Being mild, it can be used any time of day.
