Cornell & Diehl Black Frigate

Black Frigate is prepared by adding Latakia and Turkish leaf to the navy cavendish base Cornell & Diehl uses in its Blockade Runner blend. This brings together, in one body, the sweetness of Virginia leaf rested in rum and Latakia's smoke. Though the name references the naval flake tradition, the product is not a sliced flake; it is pressed and cut as an old-style crumble cake. The tin note carries rum-and-fruit sweetness together with smoke and spice. On the smoke, Latakia stands clearly in front, with unsweetened black cavendish and Oriental adding depth to it. Nicotine strength is above medium. According to available records, resting it for about a year changes its character.
