Cornell & Diehl Burley Flake #2

Burley Flake #2 is the member of the series without perique. Light and dark burley leaves are used together for the body, with red Virginia added for sweetness; the manufacturer's records also list fire-cured Kentucky among the components. The mixture is pressed and sliced, presented as flake, and carries no added flavoring. Bringing together two different burley types is the blend's distinguishing feature: light burley builds a dry, lightly papery base, while dark burley brings a depth leaning toward cocoa and earth. Red Virginia provides the sweetness that balances this dry foundation. Nicotine strength is high, and smoking it slowly noticeably changes its character.
