Cornell & Diehl Carolina Red Flake W/Perique 2025

Carolina Red Flake w/Perique is the perique-added version of the red Virginia flake Cornell & Diehl releases in its yearly Small Batch series; the 2025 edition is among the final entries of that cycle. The base leaf is ripe red Virginia, pressed and sliced; Louisiana perique adds a spicy, fruity layer to the blend. The blend is unflavored, meaning no added flavoring. Virginia's bready sweetness balances against perique's pepper-and-dried-fig side; nicotine sits at medium, and the body becomes more pronounced as the perique ratio rises. Being a flake, it calls for slow, cool smoking. Being limited production, after its release season it remained available only in aged stashes.
