Per the maker's recipe, red, bright, and stoved Virginia leaves are joined by a small amount of perique and toasted cavendish; the cut is ribbon. Stoved Virginia gives the blend a dark, molasses-like depth, while the bright leaf preserves a tangy sweetness; perique steps in with a plum-and-spice note.
