Cornell & Diehl Red Carpet

Red Carpet is a mixture in which Cornell & Diehl presents red Virginias and Perique pressed and sliced into flake. Per the maker's listing, the composition consists purely of Virginia and Perique; there's no Latakia, Oriental leaf, or casing. Pressing concentrates the red leaf's breadlike, fruity sweetness. Perique balances Virginia's sweetness by adding a measured spice layer evoking plum and pepper. When the flake is rubbed out or folded for packing, it burns cool and slow.
