Virginia Flake is an unflavored Virginia blend Cornell & Diehl produces by pressing high-grade Virginia leaf into its own flake/chip cut. Per the maker's description, the leaf's natural sugar comes forward; on the smoke there's citrus tartness, dry hay, light earth, woody tones, and dried-fruit flavors. It carries no casing — the character comes entirely from the flue-cured leaf itself. The pressed leaf can be packed straight from the pouch or rubbed out first.
