Blend
Drucquer & Sons Rule Britannia
Rule Britannia is an English mixture where light and red Virginia leaves are joined by an emphasis on Turkish-origin oriental tobaccos, with latakia adding a smoky depth. The tobacco is pressed into a block and presented as a crumbly plug; this preparation lets the smoker break off the leaf to whatever fineness desired. On the taste line, the orientals' spicy, sharp notes, Virginia's citrusy sweetness and latakia's earthy smoke sit together. The blend's name refers to the eponymous patriotic song of 1740. As with the rest of the line, this mixture too was reorganized based on old Drucquer recipes and, per records, is produced at Cornell & Diehl through Gregory Pease's work.
