Former Straight Grain Flake

Straight Grain Flake is a pressed flake in the Virginia-perique wing of the Former line, taking its name from pipe maker Hans "Former" Nielsen's grain-pattern naming. It is untopped and built on the same base as its counterpart in the series, Cross Grain Flake. The perique proportion is notably higher than in Cross Grain Flake, so plum, fig, and peppery spice tones come forward enough to potentially overtake the Virginia sweetness. Its body is fuller and it calls for a slow smoke.
