McGahey the Tobacconist Buckland Curlies

Buckland Curlies is part of the bulk blend line of Exeter-based McGahey The Tobacconist. According to the seller's description it consists of twisted Virginia, Cavendish, and Perique leaves and is sold as coin-shaped pieces obtained by slicing tobacco wound into a rope. This cut preserves the leaf's own sugar for a long time and produces a structure meant to be deliberately smoked slowly. The perique share layers a spice reminiscent of plum and pepper over the virginia sweetness; the body is medium. Records indicate McGahey's bulk blends are named after place names in the Dartmoor region, and the shop's history goes back to the 1880s.
