Haytor Cut Plug is obtained by combining bright and fire-cured Virginia leaves with burley and pressing the mixture. The tobacco, pressed into block form, is prepared to be rubbed out by hand after slicing; this gives the smoker control over how coarse or fine to make it. According to the maker's description it carries a medium-to-full body and a barely perceptible aromatic touch. Virginia's sugar and burley's dry, nutty base come forward; after pressing, the taste is concentrated and dense.
