Sutliff Tobacco Company Black Kathy

Black Kathy is an aromatic blend listed as code 101 in the Sutliff catalog. Its distinguishing trait is that the black cavendish used is not bought ready-made but produced specifically for this blend: both burley and Virginia leaves are steamed to blacken them, then rested and matured for a week. This method gives a base carrying the character of two different leaves rather than a single cavendish type. The resulting tobacco is soft, creamy, and sweet; vanilla is used as the topping. The burley base adds an earthy body while Virginia brings light sweetness. Nicotine is low and the burn is even. It's ribbon cut and sold in bulk.
