Aged Virginia, white burley, and sweet black cavendish are used together; what distinguishes this blend is the application of a spice compound rather than a single sweet topping. On the palate, burley's softness and Virginia's woody sweetness lay the groundwork. Over this comes nutmeg first, followed by cumin and red pepper flake; cinnamon, turmeric, a touch of anise, sesame oil, and saffron form the more distant layers.
