Sutliff Tobacco Company Old Professor #526

Old Professor is a latakia-forward English mixture among Sutliff's numbered bulk blends. Leaf length is not uniform; shag, fine, and thick ribbon pieces sit together. Latakia is pronounced but used in measured amounts, with the lemony sweetness from the Virginia leaf coming forward in the second half of the bowl. Nicotine stays light, making it easier to smoke than heavy English mixtures. Some sources note a light flavoring can be sensed.
